Online Teaching Advancement – Science through Art

Programme: KA2 - School Education Erasmus+, Partnership for Digital Education Readiness KA226

Main aim: Use art to overcome barriers to online learning of science subjects, to aid better learning outcomes and engage in positive learning experiences. Different types of art and art expressions can be used to introduce pupils to new ways of online learning, achieve learning outcomes based on the curriculums and reduce the feeling of social isolation.

Main objectives:- To equip educators of primary education (teachers of science subjects) in formal settings with skills and knowledge to work in a diverse online classroom, in order to create a safelearning environment for pupils by using art and art visual forms to teach science.- To ease the transition experienced in learning setting change and start the process of building confidence and personal growth after life-changing events, such as online learningwithout friends and peers.- To influence policy makers in each partnership country to provide guidance and educational support for effective online learning of N&S subjects.- To offer stakeholders in the educational community a place in the project and to use the platform for preparation of their learning sessions and exchange of best practices.

SMARTDEMA
SMART Tourism Destination increasing citizen’s sentiment of sharing local tourism-related values through gamification using emerging mobile Apps and SMALL Data analysis.

Programme: Erasmus+ KA2 – Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices; KA203 – Strategic Partnerships for higher education

Main goal: Encourage locals of cities to share tourism-related values by co-creating geo-referenced stories.

Description: the project will develop an interactive digital map, where the users will be able to post their feelings regarding a certain location in a city in the form of emotions, photos, video and sound.

Other goals:- Systematically record feelings and opinions of inhabitants about locations, buildings, works of art through a map in a mobile app;- Enable users to create stories and present their city on their own;- Use data to augment cultural and culinary tourist experience;- Train staff on how to use small data analysis and digital storytelling;- Introduce Digital Destination Management training (Nutritional Chef and Cultural Heritage Operator) that will create and manage experiences in line with the wants and needs of users;- Develop an Open Digital Badge that participants in online training will be able to put into their CV.
ACCESSIBILITY OF CULTURAL HERITAGE TO VULNERABLE GROUPS

Main aims: Cultural and social inclusion

Main goals: To train the members of vulnerable social groups for employment.

Specific objectives: To increase the accessibility of cultural heritage with adapted technology, to offer opportunities for education and training, to improve the qualifications of people working with vulnerable social groups, and to provide museums with equipment allowing the implementation of programmes for users/museum visitors, members of vulnerable groups and others.

Description: Members of vulnerable groups, employed in the project, worked in seven state museums to increase accessibility of cultural heritage by: preparing adapted programmes for visitors; organizing workshops for staff; creating and using didactic tools; communicating with the media; and preparing a final study on the availability and provisions of technical conditions to provide vulnerable groups with access to cultural heritage.

HEARME
Bringing youth and museums together

Duration: 1 June 2016 – 30 October 2017
Budget: 311.505,83 EUR

Partners: Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, Gallery of Matica srpska, Innovacion Social Emprendedores Sociales

Programme: Creative Europe, Culture sub-programme
Priorities: audience development; capacity building: training and education

Main goals:
- Build deeper relationships between the youth and partner museums;
- Capacity building: develop skills of museum educators for an open concept of youth workshops;
- Prepare programming based on youth's participation, and according to their expectations, wishes, and needs;
- Incorporate advanced methodologies into museum programming;
- Audience development: modernize youth-specific programmes.

Description: the partners developed a new kind of workshop that was based on LEGO® Serious Play®, Design Thinking, gamification, and open discussion on art. In the workshops, young people were presented with tasks and questions they answered by building models out of toy bricks that told their story and helped share their perspective on specific works of art.

Results: During the project, we trained 23 HearMe mentors, organized 665 youth workshops and hosted 8942 pupils, 150 university students and 640 teachers. 39 cultural organizations and 119 experts participated in the training workshops and the final conference.

Cooperation in European and other projects

The National Gallery of Slovenia is accepting proposals to participate in EU and other projects and grant calls.

The cooperation can be based on the work and mission of the Gallery: research in the field of art history, interdisciplinary projects (ecology and sustainable development, for example), exhibition projects, research and projects in the field of conservation-restoration, museum education, promotion of creativity and life-long learning, accessibility of cultural heritage to vulnerable groups, education and training of professional staff and cultural workers, digitalization, integration of IT into museum environment, multimedia, online and digital cultural projects, data base projects, specialist library projects.
