Lute Concert
 oil on canvas, 68 x 96 cm
 ZD S 1997068
In this painting, which is a companion piece to the preceding one, the event is also set in a classical architecture – something approaching Louis XVI, although the costumes are oriental. As was the case for the previous picture, this one also exists in another variant (64 * 98 cm), which was in the Galerie Pardo in Paris in 1983 and which has a different architectural background and also shows differences in various other elements, e.g. in the big chandelier. It is likely that this composition too owes much to some French model which we have not as yet identified.
(Painting is for the time being no longer exhibited.)
