This traditional event held by Slovenian museums, galleries and other exhibition venues will this year take place on Saturday 20 June. The event presents museum, galleries and other art institutions as places where one can spend some relaxed and creative time, being the seventh such event in a row. Besides Ljubljana, 24 other Slovenian places are involved in the project, with more than 50 institutions preparing more than 160 programmes for visitors.

Art Treasures of Prekmurje
Contest with prizes inviting children and adults to explore the art treasures of Prekmurje. All curious participants, big and small, will receive a small gift at the end. There will be a raffle at 8 pm and two lucky souls will be the winners: an adult, who will be invited to attend an art trip to Prekmurje, and a child, who will be invited to take part in the summer holiday workshops at the National Gallery of Slovenia.

Slovenian Culture of Touch
The National Gallery of Slovenia, in collaboration with the companies Semantika and Microsoft Slovenia, presents Microsoft Surface.
By means of an interactive table with inbuilt monitor that recognises the touch of several fingers at the same time, visitors will be able to browse through the collections of Slovenian museums and galleries, and get to know artists and cultural institutions. Visitors will also be able to have a go at assembling an interactive puzzle of some art works from the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Slovenia, test their memory and send a postcard.

Presentation of the workshop for intaglio printmaking techniques
The workshop lead by Professor Bojan Kovačič has been up and running at the National Gallery of Slovenia for five years already. In a special exhibition, a selection of graphic prints and some snippets from the workshops will be presented. We will also be signing up new workshop participants. All those registering on Summer Museum Night will enjoy a 10% discount.

Prekmurje Night at the National Gallery of Slovenia
On the occasion of the new exhibition Artistic Profile of Prekmurje, we will, in cooperation with the Society for the Promotion and Protection of Prekmurje Delicacies, invite visitors to experience Prekmurje also with their other senses. Accompanied by the sounds of folk musicians, they will be able to sample some select delicacies. Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to participate in a prize contest.
Free entrance, except to the Robert Maplethorpe exhibition!
