Creativity is a Superfood

Exhibition at Jakopič Promenade, Tivoli Park

This summer, the National Gallery of Slovenia is participating in the exhibition Creativity is a Superfood, organized by the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its operation, 30 years of Slovenian independence, the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the proclamation of Slovenia as a European gastronomic region of 2021.

At the exhibition, the field of intellectual property will be connected and intertwined with two other broad fields, namely culture or cultural heritage and food or gastronomy.

The exhibition aims to emphasize that Slovenian society has always been creative and innovative, and at the same time to inspire current and future generations to further such development.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with several Slovenian museums and institutions (Technical Museum of Slovenia, Museum of Christianity in Slovenia, National Gallery of Slovenia, National Museum of Slovenia, Natural History Museum of Slovenia, Slovene Ethnographic Museum, Slovenian School Museum, SAZAS Association, AIPA, Slovenian Federation of Filmmakers' Guilds, the Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Slovenia, The Ribnica Handicraft Centre, The Idrija Lace Designation Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food).

The National Gallery is presenting six works of art in different thematic sections of the exhibition:

  • Fortunat Bergant, Man with a Pretzel, 1761
  • Ivana Kobilca, Still Life with Plums, (after 1900)
  • Rihard Jakopič, The Sower, after 1927
  • Ivana Kobilca, Woman Drinking Coffee, 1888, owner: dr. Peter Hribar, Cerknica
