The National Gallery of Slovenia is home to the only comprehensive permanent exhibition on Zoran Mušič. It was established by the generous gift of the family of the artist's brother Ljuban. The majority of the presented works thus come from the art collection of Ljuban, Milada and Vanda Mušič, either as a donation or on loan to the National Gallery. In its collections, the Gallery also holds Mušič's works that came to the venerable institution either as a purchase, gift or are here on loan. In this way, we can present to the public all of the Mušič's painting and print techniques he tried out in his long career.
This month's Revelations feature drawings Zoran Mušič made in preparation for his subsequent series. It was his typical working method to first sketch the outdoor motifs that attracted him. The drawings are made in graphite or colour pencil on paper and in them he began to develop motifs he later on masterfully transferred to the series of canvas paintings or graphic prints.
12 Febuary is the 112th anniversary of the artist's birth.
